Second round of community grant funding open for applications

Voluntary and community groups across the district have been given a further opportunity to apply for a one off grant of up to £2000.

There is a remaining funding pot of £6128 available from the Council to support local groups who can demonstrate how they work in partnership with others and how their goals benefit the local community.

The Council is looking for innovative projects that the community want and that support the building of community capacity.

Councillor Paul Hiett, Cabinet Member for Communities said: “This is a further opportunity for local voluntary or community groups from across the district to apply for local funding. It’s a great chance for people to get together and work with their community to achieve more things for themselves.

“So far this year fifteen local community groups have been awarded a share of £13,997.  We hope that in this second round will see more applications from community groups who need smaller amounts of funding to get them started, so that more communities can benefit from a share of the funding.

“We will be looking for more groups who can demonstrate a good sense of partnership working in their communities to achieve sustainable long lasting results for local people.

“The funding is available on a first come, first served bases and all submitted applications will be rated against set criteria with grants being given to those who meet the criteria and show the best value for money.”

Application packs are available on the Council’s website on the ‘Community grants & funding’ page.

Alternatively you can contact the Community Engagement Team on 01594 810000 or email community.engagement@fdean.gov.uk

The call for additional applications is open with immediate effect and will close once the remaining funds have been allocated.
