Community Economic Development Team/Lydney Leaders

The Community Economic Development (CED) programme selected Lydney as one of the 50 communities to enter the programme, to help work towards seeing real economic change in Lydney town centre. The team has developed a Lydney Community Economic Development Plan which will set out how to ensure future development meets local needs.

The vision is to develop Lydney town centre as a thriving, prosperous, safe, integrated and socially inclusive attractive market town. The Lydney Our Future group has been set up following a local business event, to help take forward ambitious plans to revitalise and rejuvenate the town centre.

Town centre reports

The District Council have completed reports on the health and effectiveness of Lydney town centre, based on GFirst’s Retail Pathfinder Toolkit.

The reports present findings which can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of Lydney town centre. The reports focus on key themes such as footfall, vitality and economic characteristics.
