Getting rid of large items

If you have a large item which you are unable to take to a recycling centre you can book a bulky waste collection.

You will need to pay before we can arrange a collection date. To guarantee collection for the following week you will need to book before 3pm on Friday.

Call us on 01594 810000 to book.

You will need to leave the items where they can be easily accessed, for example, where you normally leave your bins. We cannot help with moving them from your house.

Charges for bulky waste collection

The cost is £20 for up to three items, or £40 for between four and six items. Once payment has been taken we are unable to offer a refund if you decide to cancel the collection at a later date.

We are unable to collect commercial waste, builders waste, garden waste, rubble or do house clearances.

What we will collect

The types of items we are able to collect:

  • furniture: for example, sofas, tables, chairs, drawers, beds, shelves, mirrors
  • white goods: for example, fridges, washing machines
  • large electrical items: for example, televisions, microwaves, electric fires
  • outdoor equipment: for example bikes, lawnmowers (not ride-on), children’s play equipment
  • carpets

Where possible items are refurbished and offered for reuse to low and limited income families through our contractor, Orchard Recycling.  So upholstered furniture can be reused, please supply any fire retardant labels you have with it.
