New Driver Application
To obtain your dual driver or private hire driver licence you must submit an online application and prove that you meet eligibility criteria, have passed background and driving checks, and have completed required training courses.
You must provide all supporting evidence at the time of submission so please ensure you have everything ready before you apply. Our step by step guide will go through what you need in more detail and inform you of the specific requirements. What you will need
- A photo of your driving licence.
- Evidence that you have passed the Driving Assessment Test or acceptable alternative.
- Safeguarding Training Certificate (training course must be completed every three years).
- A criminal record check (or Certificate of Good Conduct) from all countries outside of England, Wales and The Republic of Ireland you have resided in since the age of 18.

- Medical Report (if applicable) must be less than 4 months old at date of application.
- DBS Certificate (if applicable) must be less than 1 month old at date of application/be registered on the DBS Update Service.

- DVLA check code www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
- A credit or debit card to make payment.
