Coronavirus - Bins and recycling
Waste and recycling collections
Our waste and recycling collections and container deliveries are operating as normal.
Make sure your containers are out by 7am on your collection day. Do not leave extra bags at the side of your black bin as we will not be able to collect them.
Put only your normal amount of recycling out for collection. If you have large pieces of cardboard break it down so it can fit inside the blue bag. Do not leave cardboard outside the bag.
What to do with your rubbish if you have Coronavirus or are self-isolating
Follow the guidance on the Public Health England website if anyone in your household suspects they have Coronavirus.
Individuals with confirmed Coronavirus can store their personal waste (for example, used tissues and disposable cleaning cloths) securely within disposable bags. When appropriate, these bags should be removed and placed into another bag and securely tied or sealed and kept separate from other wastes.
This must be stored for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual domestic or household waste bin.
Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.
Household waste recycling centres
Gloucestershire County Council have reopened all their household waste recycling centres.
You will need to book an appointment before visiting.
Some large items may be suitable for collection. There is a charge for this service.
Recycling bring bank sites
We are currently operating our bring bank sites as normal. We ask you to follow Government advice about staying at home and not to use these sites unless absolutely necessary.
Access to streets and roads
Due to the higher than normal numbers of parked cars crews may experience difficulty in accessing some of our most narrow roads and streets. We will write to households where we are regularly unable to make collections due to reduced access and arrange for them to take their waste and recycling to a temporary collection point.
Litter
We are getting lots of reports of overflowing bins due to an increase in dog walkers because of Coronavirus. If you see an overflowing bin please take your rubbish and dog waste home with you if possible.
Keep up to date with changes
We will update social media and the website if anything changes.
You can call 01594 812666 for an automated update which will be updated daily if changes happen.
